In 2020, the American Heart Association, in collaboration with the American College of Emergency Physicians and other stakeholders, published guidelines for advanced life support on patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19. These guidelines modify basic and advanced life support algorithms for patients with COVID-19 and are generally appropriate when treating other contagious respiratory infections.
