AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™

The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

All programs accredited by ACEP for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ require the designation of an Education Planning Representative who must be an active ACEP member involved in planning, development, and implementation of the activity.

Approved applications will receive both AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and ACEP Category I Credit.

 ACEP Category I Credit Only

ACEP Membership Requirements include participation in continuing medical education activities directly focused on the needs of emergency physicians that have been accredited for ACEP Category I Credit.

Eligibility is contingent upon receipt of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ by an ACCME accredited provider.

Why do I want to apply for CME credit for my educational activity?

Aspiring physicians spend four years in medical school and three to five years in residency training. For the rest of their careers, physicians rely on accredited CME as one of the support systems that help them drive improvements in practice and optimize the care, health, and wellness of patients.

Participation for accredited CME helps physicians meet requirements for maintenance of licensure, maintenance of certification, credentialing, membership in professional societies, and other professional privileges. Physicians can count on accredited CME to provide a protected space for them to learn and teach without commercial influence.

The American College of Emergency Physicians offers AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and/or ACEP Category I Credit for activities with content directly related to the Clinical Model of Emergency Medicine.

The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Accredited providers must comply with all Core Accreditation Criteria: Mission, Program Analysis, Program Improvements, Educational Needs, Designed to Change, Appropriate Activity Formats, Competencies and Analyze Change.
