The Journal of the American College of Emergency Physicians Open (JACEP Open) has achieved a major milestone in scientific publishing.
ACEPs international, open access, peer-reviewed, online journal has received its first calculated Impact Factor of 2.3. This ranks the journal 21 of 54 in the emergency medicine subject category (62nd percentile).
“Emergency physicians can be incredibly proud of the contributions JACEP Open is making to advance medical research, health care, and public health since its launch just a few years ago,” said Henry Wang, MD, MS, editor in chief of JACEP Open. “We are grateful for the chance to collaborate with world-class authors, board members, reviewers and contributors, and we look forward to continued success.”
A publication’s Impact Factor is frequently applied as a metric to quantify its prestige and is derived from the annual mean number of published citations.
As a companion to Annals of Emergency Medicine, JACEP Open publishes high-quality original peer-reviewed research, clinical reports, opinion, and educational information related to emergency medicine in an open access format. The journal welcomes submissions from international contributors and researchers of all specialties, including whitepapers, position papers, guidelines, and consensus papers, among other articles in support of ACEP’s mission and goals.
