This Emergency Medicine Procedures Course offers simulation based training in high risk emergency procedures including difficult airway management, vascular access, bedside procedures including pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, pigtail catheter for simple pneumothorax and chest tube insertion. Procedures are taught using ultrasound-guidance. In addition the course covers the use of point-of-care ultrasound to expedite diagnosis in critically ill patients. Included with the hands-on 10 credit live course is the Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine on-demand course worth 16 additional ACCME certified credits.
