Physicians provide oversight of Ohio EMS providers, authorize EMS providers to practice, and serve as a critical link between EMS agencies and the community of healthcare partners, private and public agencies, and laypersons they serve. Despite formal acknowledgement as a practice of medicine, EMS remains the only sector in healthcare a large percentage of volunteer practitioners, including medical directors, who have limited resources to access vital EMS educational opportunities. The conference will address the gaps in knowledge and training of EMS medical directors as well provide the benefit of meeting face-to-face for updates in EMS practice, to network, and to collaborate with Ohio’s EMS medical directors, administrators, educators, providers, and other key stakeholders within the EMS community. This conference is a cost-effective avenue for all members of our EMS network to provide access to speakers from national, federal, state, and local platforms with a goal to empower and enrich all EMS systems in Ohio.
