Earlier this year, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) finalized regulations that imposed new requirements for health care professionals, hospitals, electronic health record (EHR) vendors, and other stakeholders aimed at reducing data blocking and improving interoperability of EHRs. Today, HHS announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department would be delaying the enforcement of these new requirements.
