On behalf of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), we are happy to share with you key points from the new Updated Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Clinical Policy for Adults and accompanying resources.
As fellow clinicians, we know the importance of having quick access to the latest information to help patients.
These tools were created with clinician needs in mind, and we encourage you to utilize these materials to treat and educate adult patients with a suspected mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI).
ACEP, CDC, and a multidisciplinary panel authored theClinical Policy: Neuroimaging and Decisionmaking in Adult Mild Traumatic Brain Injury in the Acute Setting to improve outcomes for more than 1.3 million patients who visit an emergency department every year for MTBI. This updated clinical policy provides evidence-based recommendations on key issues in managing adult patients with MTBI.
