Ultrasound-Guided Regional and Joint Anesthesia for the Emergency Medicine Physician: a Starter Kit

Multimodal analgesia has been shown to improve pain management for many ED complaints, and there has been a proliferation of ultrasound-guided anesthesia techniques for ED pain management including regional anesthesia and joint injections. Participants will learn basic ultrasound-guided analgesia techniques to treat common hip, chest, upper extremity, and joint complaints. Short didactic sessions will be followed by instructor-led small group hands on skill sessions on live models for anatomic review and skill practice on nerve block phantoms and meat models.
