The At or Nearing Clinical Retirement Member Interest Group (MIG), the first step to creating a new section within ACEP, was retired on July 25th. The demise of the MIG, is not sad. It means we now have over 100 members in the new Exploring Retirement (ER) Section, so the SECTION is officially chartered!

Now that we are an official section, I have a couple of requests:

• If you haven't already done so, join the section!
  Membership in the ER Section brings camaraderie, the newsletter, Zoom rendezvouses, and in-person get-togethers at the Scientific Assembly, just a few of the things we’re already doing to make the $40 fee a worthwhile investment.

• If you have already joined, reach out to one or two of your friends and colleagues; ask them to join you as a member of the ER Section as we take this journey, exploring retirement together. After all, one of the key reasons for this section is re-connecting with friends who are creating new lives for themselves away from the gurney.

Speaking of rendezvouses, add these to your calendar and hold the dates:

• Our fall section call: Monday, September 18, 5:30-7:30 pm central time (CT)
• Our meeting at ACEP23 in Philadelphia:Wednesday, October 11, 2:30-4:00 pm ET
