From the Chair: Update on Exploring Retirement Member Interest Group
As the end of 2022 approaches many of us have busy schedules and lots of questions (holiday plans and gifts, financial plans, etc.). Some may wonder how this Member Interest Group is progressing. To that question, the answer is GREAT!
We have begun assigning tasks and creating a process to focus on becoming a Section, building bridges to other Sections, and producing a Newsletter.
We recently sent a brief email survey to all retired members which will help guide the Alternative Career Affinity Group. Our ask is that you check the box on the engagED platform that says you agree to accept information from this soon to be Section. Then stay engaged and provide input to that platform.
Along the lines of the Newsletter, our very own Trailblazing Pam Bensen has agreed to be our initial Editor. The plan is to highlight work, articles, and human-interest stories MONTHLY that are of interest to the membership. We plan to begin with personal stories from the leaders of the Affinity Groups and expand from there. Consider your part in a future article.
Finally, as we apply to the ACEP Board for formal Section status, there will be the request for a $40 annual Section member fee. My hope is that, despite what may be a fixed income membership, that this fee will be well worth it in return value. We ask you to join and bring one or two of your close colleagues along with you.
Thanks for working to REMAIN RELEVANT together with us.
