Katren Tyler

Katren Tyler

MD, FACEP

Dr. Tyler is an emergency physician at UC Davis in Sacramento, California, and a clinical professor of emergency medicine. She grew up in Australia and completed emergency medicine training programs in both Australia and the United States.

Dr. Tyler's professional interests include emergency airway management, physician well-being, and geriatric emergency medicine. Dr. Tyler is the physician lead for the UC Davis Level 1 Geriatric ED Accredited Age-Friendly Emergency Department.

She is the inaugural fellowship director for the Geriatric Emergency Medicine fellowship and serves on ACEP's Geriatric ED Accreditation board.

Dr. Tyler is Vice Chair of Geriatric Emergency Medicine and Wellness and Medical Director for Physician Wellness for the UC Davis Health System. She chairs the medical staff Well-Being Committee and coordinates the system's physician wellness champions and the peer responder process.

Dr. Tyler is part of the national teaching faculty of the Difficult Airway Course.
