As a GEDC member, you will be able to join webinars and roundtable discussions with geriatric EM experts and leaders. If you want more individualized help, you can engage the GEDC’s consulting services to perform a gap analysis, create your accreditation plan, and strategize about how to meet your hospital’s strategic goals within your ED. By partnering with the GEDC you can share your hospital’s pain points and the GEDC’s consulting team and faculty experts will help you create an accreditation plan tailored to your institution’s needs. GEDC Online Learning

The GEDC offers a full set of free, online courses covering all key topics in the care and management of older adults in the Emergency Department. New courses are being added regularly, so check the website for new content frequently. These courses can benefit all members of the multi-disciplinary EM team, including Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare Executives, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Resident Fellows, Social Workers, and Students.

All GEDC courses offered are free and most include Continuing Professional Development and Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Nursing Education (CPD or CME or CNE) Credits. Learn More


Consulting and Services

The GEDC Consulting Team can work with your site and health system leaders to create a customized engagement that will ensure your ED or health system achieves its accreditation goals and provides a plan for future advancement. Consulting engagements are tailored to your specific needs and can include a bootcamp to train your entire multidisciplinary team, an accreditation gap analysis, an accreditation and QI plan, an assessment and plan to meet your own hospital’s strategic goals and key performance metrics, accreditation support, and other catered engagements to help you achieve excellence in geriatric emergency medicine care. Learn More

Research Opportunities

Geriatric Emergency care Applied Research (GEAR) is a research infrastructure. Through research, its mission is to generate evidence to improve the emergency care of older adults and those with dementia and other cognitive impairments. Important Application Information

All three Levels of GEDA are operating under the revised criteria that went into effect on June 30, 2023.

Please note Level 1 and Level 2 will undertake boarding care metric requirements on January 1, 2024.
