A Message From Your New YPS Chair
By Mike Ruzek, DO, FACEP
Welcome to another great and exciting year with the ACEP Young Physicians Section!
Last year was a great success. Our section won the ACEP award for service to our college and we were recognized for best section newsletter. I want to take a moment to recognize the amazing work and contributions of our incredible YPS board and past-chair Jessica Best, MD.
When I discuss my ACEP and state chapter activities with those who are not currently involved, I’m often surprised by how many people tell me they would like to be involved, too.
We want to make 2019-20 another great year for YPS. In addition to inviting you to our programming at the annual Leadership & Advocacy Conference, I encourage you to share your talents, time, and ideas by getting involved with our Section. There are numerous opportunities to develop your early career leadership skills and contribute to shaping ACEP’s future.
This year we will be working to draft resolutions for ACEP 2020 to promote young physician involvement in all sections, committees, and council.
It’s a privilege to be your YPS Chair for 2019-20, and I welcome your input and ideas for making our Section great!
