Message from the Chair – See you in Philly!
Dave Young, MD
Hello fellow adventurers,
I’m looking forward to seeing those of you who can make it to Philadelphia for the rapidly approaching Scientific Assembly. This year is packed with educational sessions and events for wilderness medicine practioners. In addition to our Section Meeting, we will be hosting a free indoor rock-climbing event. This event gives all of us a chance to get some exercise in, while also meeting and mingling with like-minded wilderness folks. Our Section Meeting will be the following day. This year, we will be voting on a new Secretary. We will announce the winner of the photo contest – thank you all for your submissions! And lastly, we will hear from a true wilderness medicine pioneer, Dr. Linda Keyes, who will talk to us about “Wilderness as Medicine for Emergency Clinicians.” All are welcome! We will follow our meeting with free drinks and appetizers sponsored by BTG Pharmaceuticals. Lastly, all day Thursday, the EMRA MedWar will take place in the Wissahickon Valley Park.
I’ve highlighted some events below to put in your calendar. Thank you for your support of our Section!
