Chair‘s Corner

Hope this finds everyone well. I mainly want to talk about our upcoming yearly meeting. ACEP’21 is right around the corner. I hope to see everyone there either virtually or in person. Both options are available. You do need proof of vaccination to attend in person, however.

Our Toxicology Section meeting is on October 25, 2021 from 1-3pm (EST) at the Westin Hotel, in the Westin Lobby, Stone Room. The virtual meeting invite is coming to you soon.

Our speaker this year is Dr. Spencer Corey Greene.  Dr. Greene will be presenting, “Antivenom Use in the Alpha-Galaxy”. The presentation will describe the alpha-gal syndrome and discuss the relative risks and benefits of antivenom for snakebite patients with alpha gal syndrome.

We will also be approving nominations for the election of the chair-elect, secretary, alternate councillor, and newsletter editor. Spread the word if you know someone who is interested.
