Editor’s Welcome
Hello!
Welcome to the Summer 2021 newsletter.
This is a shorter newsletter, but we’re bringing to you a unique look at the way poison control is handled in India, as well as a concise review of nitrous oxide toxicity.
I also want to offer, on behalf of our section, a sincere apology. It was brought to our attention that a previous edition of the newsletter contained an article about the “Drug Seeking” patient and how to identify and manage this in the emergency department. The article was neither evidence based nor was it patient centered, and certainly does not reflect current understanding of the care of patients with opioid use disorders in the acute care setting. It also was not up to the standards we are setting for our section and our newsletter. As such, it was removed immediately after it was brought to our attention. We offer you, our readers, our sincere apology that it was published in the first place.
I hope you all are well and enjoy our newsletter.
Regards,
Justin Corcoran
