From the Chair
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
With summer rapidly coming to an end, football season and lots of other fall sports are kicking into full gear. In addition, it is interview season for sports medicine fellowships. Emergency sports physicians are busy covering fall sports, new emergency sports fellows are hitting the ground running, and lots of projects new and old are on the horizon. This is an incredibly exciting and fun time of the year for emergency sports physicians.
ACEP17 has several lectures and hands on skills labs to pull together these topics and augment clinical practice. Hopefully you can take advantage of the course offerings (see the included list of sports medicine related topics below) and join us for the Section meeting on Monday, 10/30 at 9:30 am at the Marriott Marquis, Mezzanine level in the Magnolia room (please note that this was changed as it was originally scheduled for Tuesday 10/31 and conflicted with other sports medicine lectures). We will be discussing ways to encourage increased membership and involvement in our section, opportunities to get involved in a joint section grant with the Wilderness Medicine section, hear AJ Monseau discuss his experience as the team physician for USA Wrestling at the Olympics, and more!
Looking forward to seeing you in Washington, DC!
