American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM)
Finally, AMSSM supports various opportunities for presenting and other types of involvement at the resident, fellow, and faculty levels. AMSSM has a robust case and research submission process affording top submissions the chance for a podium presentation to a national audience. Similar to the ACEP New Speakers Forum, the AMSSM Showcase Talks forum invites new speakers (post-fellowship) to submit proposals on any relevant topic of interest. Following review, a selected number of speakers will present at the annual meeting and compete for a spot to join the AMSSM faculty for the following year's general session. Deadline is usually in mid-September – check the website for details.
Your other EM-related ideas worthy of annual meeting attention may be proposed as instructional course lectures (ICLs) and should be discussed with the AMSSM EM Interest Group leader or a member of the Program Committee for further guidance. Apart from abstract submissions, Showcase Talks, and ICL proposals, AMSSM is extraordinarily welcoming in extending open invitations to join one of its many working committees as great way to get involved. Participation on an AMSSM committee can be a very rewarding and productive experience.
