Councilor Report

  • Charles Kemmler completed a councilor report – no resolutions on research.

Governance Items

  • Chadd Kraus provided a board report.
  • Martin Wegman provided an update on operational guidelines.
  • James Paxton made a motion to hold a special election to keep the chair elect position open and extend the chair position for a 3-year term, and Will Sharp seconded the motion.

Section Activities

  • EFIC Primer has been completed and added to the resource page on the website.
  • Journal Club Primer is in progress and in the final stages of completion.
  • EMF has selected 21 grantees for the 2024-2025 cycle - https://www.emfoundation.org/grantee/current-grantees

Section Objectives

  • Serve as a resource to the Board and the College regarding emergency medicine research.
  • Stimulate and encourage quality research in emergency medicine.
  • Promote education relating to research methodology, for the Section of the College.
  • Provide a forum for communication among researchers within the College, and to encourage that communication.
  • Promote collaboration among researchers in emergency medicine and related fields, to advance the specialty.
  • Serve as a resource regarding research training programs in emergency medicine.
