National Shortages: Baby Formula and Iodinated Contrast
Nearly two and a half years into the pandemic and we are now facing further downstream effects through iodinated contrast shortages and infant formula shortages. Certainly, these shortages impact all of us to some extent. To maintain the highest standard of care and to help provide our clinical teams with resources, our QIPS leadership team wanted to direct your attention to the following resources:
The American Academy of Pediatrics’ Healthy Children website has an excellent article written by Dr. Steven Abrams where he answers many questions posed by the infant formula shortage.
The American College of Radiology committee on drugs and contrast media, within the ACR Commission on Quality and Safety published this statement on May 6, 2022 regarding the current state of iodinated contrast shortage. Regular updates are provided.
