Are You Ready for the ABEM In-Training Exam?

The ABEM In-Training Exam (ITE) is fast approaching and will be administered from February 25 through March 1, 2025. This comprehensive exam contains 225 multiple-choice questions and covers the full scope of the 2022 EM Model.

In recent years, ABEM has updated the style and scope of its board questions, including those on the ITE. PEER mirrors these writing standards, which is why you’ll find that PEER questions are the closest to the real ABEM board exams.

ACEP currently offers EM residents a couple of ways to prepare for the ITE:

  • The PEERprep In-Training Self-Test and Study Guide includes a 50-question sample test that is available free to everyone.
  • EM residents with access to PEERprep for Programs can also self-launch the PEERprep Mock In-Training Exam With Review from the My Institution tab within the ACEP Online Learning Center beginning January 9, 2025, and ending March 31, 2025. The PEERprep Mock In-Training Exam With Review includes a full set of 225 ITE questions selected by the PEER Editors-in-Chief to match the ABEM exam blueprint. Plus, the PEERprep Mock In-Training Exam With Review allows you to review all questions as many times as you want.

In addition, program directors who subscribe their residency programs to PEERprep for Programs can now assign multiple versions of the PEERprep Mock In-Training Exam to those residents who want further opportunities to prepare. Just choose the appropriate exam version from the drop-down menu and add all preselected questions to an assignment. Residents’ performance can then be tracked via the new analytics dashboard.
