COVID Toolkit: ED Goals of Care Discussions

Bedside discussions about goals of care are essential to align treatments and interventions with patient values. This has always been an important part of emergency department care, but even more so with the emergence of COVID, when older patients and those with severe or life-limiting illnesses are at high risk for non-survival after intubation or CPR.

This video is intended for all emergency practitioners and provides tools for holding these difficult discussions in the emergency department in a timely and efficient manner.
