Section Editor, Critical Cases in Orthopedics and Trauma, Critical Decisions in Emergency Medicine — Dr. Riveros is an assistant professor of emergency medicine and sports medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. After earning his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Florida, he completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of South Florida and his fellowship in sports medicine at West Virginia University. Dr. Riveros has experience in working in various practice environments, from critical access hospitals to level 1 trauma centers. In addition to sports medicine, his areas of interest include musculoskeletal ultrasound, orthopedics, trauma, and resident education.
