Rolando Valenzuela

Rolando Valenzuela is the Chair of the ACEP International Section and Director of the Global Emergency Medicine Fellowship Director at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He studied medicine at Tufts University, and Residency at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. He completed a fellowship in Global Emergency Medicine at LA County + USC Medical Center, where he received a DTMH from the Gorgas School in Lima, Peru. He is a Fulbright Scholar and has worked with his Chilean EM colleagues on developing a regionalized system for trauma care in Santiago. He has worked and lectured around the world. His areas of academic interest are Prehospital care, Trauma systems development, Trauma registry development, Emergency Medicine and Critical Care capacity-building, and disaster response.
