Dr. Gillian Schmitz at the ESEM23 Conference

Hi, I'm Dr. Gillian Schmitz from the American College of Emergency Physicians, and I am honored to have my first time in the UAE and to represent the United States at this exciting international meeting. For me, this was an incredible opportunity to see collaboration between so many different countries.

Our panel session was focused on the aftermath of COVID-19 and the challenges we face internationally within emergency medicine, and really looking at concrete solutions on where do we go from here. We had representation from the Philippines, from Africa, from the United States, from the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, and it's such a privilege and honor to learn from many of my colleagues throughout the world, the solutions they're doing to combat burnout and to look at how we can improve quality care in emergency medicine.
