Documentary About Salem Witch Trials

Dr. Ralph Riviello, past president of the Forensic Section was invited by Wolf Media to offer his expertise in strangulation for a documentary that is being produced for the Smithsonian Television Station about the Salem witch trials. Hanging was the method of execution in Puritan New England and this documentary explores deep into the events of the time. Dr. Riviello was interviewed about what people who were hanged experienced as well as the bystanders. The purpose of the interview was to highlight that these individuals did not die of judicial hanging as we would think, but rather they died of strangulation. The documentary is scheduled to be aired in 2018.
