April 2021 - Message from the Chair

2020 was the “difficult time” we imagined was possible, but never thought we would actually see. And yet, because of Covid-19, as Emergency Physicians it was the most demanding and biggest challenge of our lifetime. Unfortunately, assaults and violence against others never stopped and actually worsened while hidden in the face of Covid-19. And yet, as a section and leaders in Forensic Medicine, we stood strong and remained committed to our patients and their needs. As we faced unprecedented challenges and so many unknowns, we continued to dedicate ourselves to our community and each of our patients. With Covid-19 in the background, we recommit ourselves to our specialty, our practice and most importantly our patients. Thanks for everything you do and everything you will do for our cause.
