Emergency Medicine Data Institute Activities at Scientific Assembly

Fall is an exciting time of year. It brings about cyclical events such as cooler weather, football season, baseball playoffs, and pumpkin-spiced everything. Despite one's sentiments for pumpkin-spiced treats, we could agree that fall also brings gathering. There is no better event to gather at than ACEP's Scientific Assembly. This is when friendships are rekindled, and members discuss the latest topics or debate the greatest Rocky movie. Scientific Assembly is a spiritual focus of all things Emergency Medicine, where prominent leaders in EM discuss pressing issues important to ACEP's members and how emergency physicians can forge their way forward in an ever-changing world. During the four-day event, the Emergency Medicine Data Institute will have a significant presence, hosting and presenting exciting talks and events.

What's AI Got to Do With IT? The Future of Health Care Automation

During the Council Town Hall Meeting, Dr. Todd Taylor, EMDI Chief Vision Officer, will lead a discussion on the growing presence and popularity of AI and its utility within emergency medicine. Learn about the rapidly changing advancements of AI and how they will impact the future of healthcare delivery.

Join the excitement of innovation as teams work together to address and solve pressing challenges within emergency medicine. The event will host a keynote session each morning, culminating with a pitch competition where teams present their solutions. Visit the HackED! website for more details.

Cybersecurity Tabletop Exercise

October 11, 2023, 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Convention Center, Terrace Ballroom I

Participate or listen in as teams work through cybersecurity attack scenarios where they will collaboratively respond to simulated cyber events that disrupt access to critical systems. The scenarios will challenge participants to strategize ways to maintain patient care while dealing with system downtime.

Big Impact of Big Data

Join a panel discussion on big data's impact on healthcare and how the Emergency Medicine Data Institute is driving the future of medicine. The panel consists of Dr. Stephen Epstein, EMDI Board of Governors Chair, Dr. Jim Augustine, EMDI Board of Governors Vice-Chair, Dr. Arjun Venkatesh, EMDI Board of Governors member, and Dr. Todd Taylor, EMDI Chief Vision Officer.
