HackED! ’23 – Stop Reacting, Start Driving
Are you ready to challenge the status quo and shape the future of acute care?
ACEP HackED! is our new annual competition designed to help inspire the next generation of innovators to build the solutions EM needs. In partnership with Stanford University StEMI X Innovators, the Emergency Medicine Innovation Collaborative, and ACEP's Health IT Committee, HackED! will ignite your creativity and drive lasting impacts to EM.
This year’s HackED! will feature two tracks: the Innovation Challenge and the Hackathon! Both the Innovation Challenge and Hackathon began this month, with team formation and our innovative Design Speaker series. Teams are accelerating their innovation up to the 3-day, live event during Scientific Assembly 2023, from October 9-11 in Philadelphia, PA.
Track 1: Innovation Challenge
The Innovation Challenge focuses on building and designing innovative models that address the question: “How might we improve acute care in terms of experience, outcomes, or cost?” Teams are ideating and innovating solutions to be presented during the morning pitch competition in Philadelphia.
Track 2: Hackathon
The Hackathon focuses on one use case: Hospital/ED at Home. Teams are building novel end-to-end solutions for implementing a hospital/ED at-home program. Each team will demo their minimally viable product during the afternoon pitch competition in Philadelphia.
Design Speaker Series
We are thrilled to introduce an exceptional array of healthcare leaders helping guide teams and participants through their HackED! journey. In parallel with both tracks, teams will learn about healthcare innovation from conceptualization to product creation and pitching. The series will run through September 28, 2023. Each session will offer live participation and Q&A, with recordings on our webpage soon after.
Late registration is still open if you want to join as a participant, coach, or judge. Both pitch competitions will also be available for everyone to come and see. Mark your calendars and prepare for an incredible journey of innovation!
