The State of EM Practice & ACEP’s 2024 Focus
This session will delve into the most current challenges and opportunities in emergency care. As a collective, conference attendees will work to take the insights shared in this session and review how, through the power of collaboration, we can enhance patient outcomes in the Emergency Department. Leveraging data from the Emergency Medicine Data Institute (EMDI), ACEP survey results, and other contemporary datasets, ACEP leaders will present a comprehensive overview of membership insights, practice and treatment trends, and critical issues facing the field.

Bridging Acute and Long-Term Care
This session will explore the pivotal role of Emergency Medicine in the continuum of care for patients. Traditionally seen as "acute care" specialists, Emergency Physicians are increasingly recognized for their critical function in connecting patients with comprehensive care pathways. As the first point of contact for most hospital admissions, Emergency Departments are uniquely positioned to facilitate transitions into long-term care management. This discussion will delve into how we leverage Emergency Medicine to enhance care coordination, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen the overall healthcare system's response to chronic disease states. Attendees will gain insights into the pain points in the system and how Emergency Medicine can act as the "glue" in healthcare, ensuring patients receive timely and integrated care across various specialties and services.
