Why Wilderness Medicine?
Wilderness Medicine is one of the few areas that can encompass everything in medicine. It can encompass backcountry medicine, austere medicine, and sports medicine. Emergency Medicine training combined with Wilderness Medicine will make me as prepared as possible for any eventuality.
Also, being outside is fine.
Why Stanford?
Stanford was the birthplace of Wilderness Medicine in the US. This rich history combined with the opportunities and academic prowess of the university make this an ideal setting for fellowship and to start my career.
What are you most looking forward to during fellowship?
I am mostly excited to just get out there! I have so many plans for the year already including altitude research, ultramarathon medicine, training, teaching, developing my own research area and developing my own practical skills. I am looking forward to the opportunities and connections that the fellowship provides.
