Pain Management and Addiction Medicine Section Recognized with Two Awards

Section Award for Service to the College
We are very pleased to announce that the Pain Management and Addiction Medicine (PMAM) Section is the recipient of a 2021 Section Award for Service to the College. The PMAM Section earned this award, because of all the tremendous and amazing work that our members have been doing, across the country, to improve pain management in our emergency department, to reduce the administration of opioids, reduce the prescribing of opioids, improve harm reduction, and to initiate treatment for substance use disorders, particularly opioid use disorder in the emergency department.

ACEP Council Teamwork Award
Members of the Pain Management and Addiction Medicine (PMAM) Section were also the recipients of the ACEP Council Teamwork Award. The recipients of the Council Teamwork Award were:
