Simone Lawson
MD MEd FAAP, FACEP
Dr. Lawson is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and works at the Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She grew up in Charlotte, NC and attended undergraduate and medical school at UNC Chapel Hill. After completing Pediatrics residency in New Orleans (Children's Hospital New Orleans, LSU Health Sciences Center), she worked in the ED for two years before moving back to Charlotte for PEM fellowship at Carolinas Medical Center. After PEM fellowship, she completed an additional year of PEM Ultrasound fellowship at Children's National Hospital. She was selected for the 2020-2021 Master Teacher and Leadership Development Program cohort at George Washington University and later completed a Master's of Education at GWU in 2023. She is currenlty the Program Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) Ultrasound fellowship at Children's National Hospital.
