Tarlan Hedayati

MD, FACEP

Dr. Tarlan Hedayati is an Associate Professor and Chair of Education in the Department of Emergency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She organizes the curriculum and educational activities for the 68 residents and 30 faculty in the department, oversees the medical student clerkships, coordinates and integrates Simulation and
Ultrasound content into residency education, and creates and overseas academic advising plans. She received the 2023 American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) National Emergency Medicine Faculty Teaching Award. She was named the 2019-20 Outstanding Speaker of the Year by ACEP. She has also been recognized as Lecturer of the Year numerous years by the EM residents at Cook County Hospital. She enjoys speaking on Cardiology emergencies, Critical Care topics, and Medical Education and has been invited to speak both nationally and internationally. She has written numerous manuscripts, in addition to serving as author and associate editor for a number of emergency medicine textbooks.
