MD, MBA, MPH, FACEP

Azita Hamedani MD, MPH, MBA is the founding Chair of the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine at University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has overseen the significant growth of all three missions of the academic department, including doubling of clinical volume, doubling of the ED clinical footprint, addition of multiple sites, initiation and significant expansion of the residency training program and fellowship programs, and growth of a successful research portfolio. In addition, she has overseen the establishment of over a $10 million endowment for academic goals of the department. Prior to returning to Wisconsin, Dr. Hamedani was on faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she completed a CEO-sponsored hospital administrative fellowship. Dr. Hamedani served as chief resident in the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency program (Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital) and is a graduate of Yale College, Yale School of Public Health, Yale School of Medicine, and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
