Amado Baez

MD, MPH, PhD, FCCM, FACEP

Dr. Baez is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Epidemiology and served as Vice-Chair for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia until assuming the role of Dean for the School of Public Health at Augusta University on July 2022. A recognized academic physician-leader with close to 30 years of extensive policy, research and teaching efforts focused on public health preparedness and the continuum of care of the critically ill and injured. As Senior Public Health Advisor to the Dominican Presidency his COVID-19 Pandemic work led to the 2021 National Research Award by the Dominican Republic Ministry of Science (the highest health research distinction in DR).
