Jeffrey Tabas
MD, FACEP
Dr. Tabas MD is a professor of emergency medicine at University of California San Francisco School of Medicine and practices clinically at the San Francisco General Hospital Emergency Department.
He completed internal medicine and emergency medicine residencies at UCLA Medical Center and is board certified in both. His academic interests are focused on faculty development, cardiovascular emergencies, and procedural skill training.
Dr. Tabas has planned or served as an invited speaker for ACEP's Scientific Assembly for more than two decades, presenting on a variety of cardiovascular topics. He also helped develop ACEP’s cadaver based procedures lab and transvenous pacing lab.
He has received multiple recognitions for his educational efforts including the Outstanding Contribution to Education, ACEP’s career achievement award in emergency medicine education.
Dr. Tabas has co-edited textbooks on emergency electrocardiography, cardiovascular emergencies, and emergency procedures. He has published in the highest quality medical journals including NEJM, BMJ, Jama, Jama Internal Medicine, and Annals of Emergency Medicine. He serves on the editorial boards of Jama Internal Medicine and Annals of Emergency Medicine and is the editor of the ECG of the month section for Annals.
Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as running and playing beer league ice hockey.
