Dr. Epstein is Chair of the Board of Governors of ACEP's Emergency Medicine Data Institute.

Dr. Epstein is also the Chair of the Section Council on Emergency Medicine and of the Council on Medical Service of the American Medical Association, which studies socioeconomic aspects that influence the practice of medicine.
