Sharon Mace

Dr. Sharon Mace started the Clinical Decision Unit at the Cleveland Clinic in 1994. She has been the Director of the Unit since the beginning and is currently the Director Emeritus of the Unit. Dr. Mace has spoken at multiple National Observation Medicine Conferences over the years, written articles on observation medicine and is the editor of the textbook “Observation Medicine Principles and Protocols,” which is now in its second edition. Dr. Mace served as ACEP Observation Medicine Section chair two times and was previously the secretary. Dr. Mace was presented the ACEP Lou Graff Award for Excellence in Observation Medicine in 2024.
