Margarita Pena-Morris

Margarita E. Pena, MD FACEP is an emergency physician at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI, the medical director of the Clinical Decision Unit, and the Associate Program Director of the Emergency Medicine residency program.  She is also a professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.  She has published manuscripts, a book and book chapters in Observation and Emergency Medicine.  She is the current chair of the ACEP Observation Medicine Section, past chair of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine Observation Medicine Interest Group, the chair of the Michigan College of Emergency Physician Observation Medicine Committee, and co-director of the Observation Medicine - Science and Solutions conference.
