Michelle Lin

MD, FACEP

Dr. Lin is an emergency physician who aims to improve the value of emergency care by promoting the dissemination and implementation of value-based practices. Her projects have focused on three domains: evaluating the cost-effectiveness of value-based care, identifying drivers of variation in ED admission rates, and exploring alternative payment models for emergency medical services. She is interested in developing interventions to improve emergency physician decision-making and augmenting the role of emergency departments in transitions of care. Her research has been funded by the Emergency Medicine Foundation and American Board of Medical Specialties, and she has received awards from organizations such as Academy Health for her work. Dr. Lin is currently an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai. She completed a fellowship in Health Policy Research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and completed residency in emergency medicine at Bellevue Hospital and NYU Medical Center.
