Chair’s Corner
ACEP19 in Denver is fast approaching! We hope you’ll be able to join us for our annual AAWEP section meeting, October 28 from 9:30 am to noon at the Hyatt Regency, Capitol Ballroom 5. We’re proud to present a dynamic lineup of speakers, who will provide short talks on emotional intelligence, the gender pay gap, implicit bias, and saying “no.”
We’re particularly excited about cosponsoring four ACEP resolutions, which were authored by AAWEP members. The proposals, which focus on implicit bias training, pay transparency, NEMPAC transparency, and extended Medicaid postpartum funding, will be presented at the ACEP19 Council Meeting. We encourage you to advocate for these important initiatives both before and during the conference.
This year has been a productive one for AAWEP. For the first time, our section developed a free CME packet, “Achieve with AAWEP,” a special course that focuses on career growth, work-life balance, surviving a lawsuit, mentoring, and leadership. Active AAWEP members can log in to earn 7 CME credits.
Your AAWEP leaders are ready to hit the ground running again this year! As always, we welcome your ideas and support.
